A Book I’m Excited to Finally Start Reading!

I love to read any type of self-help books.

This book “More Than A Body,” is one I can’t wait to read!

I just ordered this book on Amazon and goodness I’m excited to jump into reading it.

(this post has affiliate links. That means that I get commission from the links you click but of course at no cost to you.)

I have been following the authors Lexie & Lindsay Kite for years and I love all their insight on body image.

The authors have their doctorate degrees and have a vast knowledge on the topic of body image.

I feel like body image doesn’t just have to be for girls .. it affects men too.

This was a book I knew I’d want to mark up and re-read so buying it was worth every penny.

As a mother to young kids , I want to be able to teach my children how to have a healthy body image.

I also want to lead by example by having a healthier body image myself…. It’s a journey I’m on.

You should join me in reading this book! I think this book will be very beneficial in many ways.

Click here for the book link.

Enjoy your reading !

How Well Do You Take Care of Yourself?

It’s a good question: “How well do you take care of yourself?”

Think about it for a minute.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being you make sure to have time every single day to focus on “yourself” in a healthy manner, and 1 being you rarely if ever do anything for yourself. Where would you land on the scale?

Is it selfish to take care of yourself?

No way, not when you are taking care of yourself in a healthy manner.

Being selfish is a completely different thing, where you only think of yourself, your wants, needs etc.

We are talking about, do you take care of your body, your mind, your spirit and your soul?

And if you don’t, think about why not?

Try to remove one stumbling block you have today, that may be keeping you from taking care of yourself.

You can look at my self-care list, or you can create your own, just try every day to do something for yourself that can better who you are as a person.

Relax more.

Learn more.

Sleep more.

Ponder more.

The list goes on and on. You know what is best for you.

I believe so many of us, get stuck in the cycle of hustling from place to place, taking care of others, or accomplishing multiple tasks…that we forget about keep OURSELVES healthy.

Please take time for yourself, you deserve it!

8 Self Care Tips You Must Try Today:

With the pandemic still going strong .. it’s important to remember activities to deplete the stress and worry from our lives.

Here are 8 self care tips you must try today!

1-Go outside

There’s just something about nature and being outside that eases tension and stress. Whether you go outside to be productive or to just sit and take in the scenery… going outside is a great way to clear our minds.

2-Disconnect and read a book

Reading is such a great way to escape and relax. Just find the right book genre, and your mind will be free from stress.

3-Bubble Bath

Taking a break to soak in the tub is such a relaxing way to give yourself a break. The warmth from the bathtub also helps you to unwind and get your mind off stressful things.

4-Listen to an uplifting podcast

There are so many positive and uplifting podcasts out there. Find a podcast you love and I think you’ll see how listening can be a great way to de-stress.

5- Walk-

Moving your body is a great way to unwind and get lost in your thoughts.

6- Turn on some relaxing music

If you’re one of those people that loves music.. turn on some soft, relaxing tunes. Music truly can be therapeutic for your brain and body.

7-Take a power nap

If you are napping for more than an hour I myself don’t consider that a power nap. I have found that a 20-45 minute nap can do wonders to relax my brain and body, without feeling groggy and tired when I wake up.

8-Go for a scenic drive

Take in the area around you. Don’t go on a busy freeway if you can avoid that… we are talking a low-stress, pretty drive. There’s something about nature that just cures the soul.
