Sunday Thoughts: Choosing to Follow Christ.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I love beautifully quotes.

This particular quote is a strong reminder to me to choose our Savior Jesus Christ everyday.

This quote makes me think, how has Christ changed me?

To answer that question, the Savior has changed my life in EVERY single aspect of my life.

The Savior has changed me through how I see the world.

Everyday, as I strive to become closer to Christ, my perspective changes.

Overall, the Savior is the great reminder, that compassion and love conquers all.

Not only the compassion and love we feel from the Savior, but the compassion and love we give to others.

Life is hard, and full of struggles. When we are in times of sorrow, we can lean on our Savior for support. We can feel peace through our Savior Jesus Christ.

Even more, we learn the true cure for healing is through serving others. Through showing compassion and love to others.

When we step outside of our situations, and we lift others. Not only are we brining others peace and happiness. We are feeling our lives with Christ-like love, that is beyond any worldly love.

I am so grateful for Savior and for the power He brings into our lives. I am so thankful that we can be changed through Christ.

I pray that we can all reach for our Savior in all aspects of our lives. He will heal us and uplift us, and encourage us to do the same for others.

One Habit I’m Trying To Break For Good

We all have little habits … good and bad.

Sometimes these little habits snowball and escalate into something terrible.. and sometimes into something good, it depends on the habit.

One habit I have had for most of my life, is in the category of negative thoughts.

To be specific … I have the habit of thinking “I’m not good enough.”

I get thinking I could be a better mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, neighbor … and on and on.

I recognize this habitual mindset is not only negative .. but it’s quite debilitating.

For every victory in my life… it tends to be coupled with “but am I good enough?”

I listen to Jody Moore’s podcast “better than happy,” and her insight has lead me to realize… this small habit of mine needs to stop.

Maybe you share the same habit?

If so, let’s work on this together.

When our brains run to the negative though of “I’m not good enough,” tell it to stop and remind yourself why you are good enough.

This won’t change overnight … but I know we can get through this.

I’ll continue to check back in with my progress.

And I challenge you to get rid of your bad habit too!

My Goals and Hopes for the Year of 2022

Every year I have a big list of goals to accomplish … and sometimes it’s too much to stay motivated.

So this year Im keeping it a bit more simple.

I try to hit all the areas: spiritual, physical, and emotional. I feel like all three of these areas go hand in hand and it’s important to create goals within each areas.

I would love to hear your goals too!

Best of luck to our Nee Year!

Here are my 8 Goals for the Year of 2022

1. Ponder the scriptures every day. I don’t want to just quickly read the scriptures, but my hope is to read the scriptures and think about how the scriptures can apply to my life and my family’s life.

2. Go to bed by 10:30 pm every night. This can help me feel refreshed.

3. Read one book every month.

4. Be able to do 30 push-ups without stopping.

5. Lessen my caffeine intake.

6. Have a designated reading time with our kids each day.

7. Plan monthly date nights with my husband.

8. Plan out blogging and Instagram posts every week.

Maybe there’s some ideas for your goals too?!

Happy New Year!

Gluten-Free Tip Of The Week

Have you ever stopped to think that there are some really healthy aspects to living a gluten free lifestyle?

Yes some of the grains and nutrients we miss out on from wheat flour is hard… but overall by eating less carbs we are much healthier.

I’ve been learning more about healthy living this past year.

And really what stands out a lot is that protein and fruits and veggies are ideal!

Carbohydrates provide us with energy.

But guess what?

We can get that energy from fruits and veggies.

So my point is…living a gluten free lifestyle helps us cut down on all the extra complex carbs that our bodies really don’t need!

Do we miss the baked good and tasty treats?

Of course!

Is it alright to indulge into these tasty treats every now and again?

Yes.

But with all that I have learned in the past year, I am truly realizing that cutting out all the complex carbs is actually a blessing in disguise.
