One Habit I’m Trying To Break For Good

We all have little habits … good and bad.

Sometimes these little habits snowball and escalate into something terrible.. and sometimes into something good, it depends on the habit.

One habit I have had for most of my life, is in the category of negative thoughts.

To be specific … I have the habit of thinking “I’m not good enough.”

I get thinking I could be a better mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, neighbor … and on and on.

I recognize this habitual mindset is not only negative .. but it’s quite debilitating.

For every victory in my life… it tends to be coupled with “but am I good enough?”

I listen to Jody Moore’s podcast “better than happy,” and her insight has lead me to realize… this small habit of mine needs to stop.

Maybe you share the same habit?

If so, let’s work on this together.

When our brains run to the negative though of “I’m not good enough,” tell it to stop and remind yourself why you are good enough.

This won’t change overnight … but I know we can get through this.

I’ll continue to check back in with my progress.

And I challenge you to get rid of your bad habit too!

Newly Diagnosed With Celiacs Disease? 4 Important Steps to Help You….

It can be hard to step into a gluten free lifestyle, however, it shouldn’t be overwhelming.

Our works is understanding the gluten free lifestyle more so thankfully there’s more awareness.

After my own experience with being new to the gluten free world (back in 2008), I came up with 4 steps to help you:

  1. Share the News

Why share the news?

I have learned it’s important to be up front and honest about your gluten free lifestyle.

Be tactful and nice when you explain your gluten free guidelines. But let others know the importance of following gluten free food guidelines.

Gluten free living is more common now so there’s no need to feel like an “inconvenience” in any way.

It’s best just to let others know that you eat gluten free to stay safe and healthy.

2. Find Support Resources.

I am on multiple Gluten free Facebook groups.

I also follow a lot of gluten free accounts on Instagram and tik tok.

When you’re surrounded by helpful resources you don’t feel alone in the gluten free journey.

3. Download helpful gluten free apps

I currently have 2 apps on my phone that I use to help with my gluten-free lifestyle:

-Gluten free scanner: you scan food items snd it tells you if it’s gluten free or not.

-Find Me Gluten Free: it’s a resource mapping out gluten free restaurants and bakeries in your area. This is so helpful and nice.

4. Keep track of Gluten-free Recipes You Enjoy

One of the reasons I started this blog was to keep track of gluten free recipes that we love.

Pinterest is a great resource to organize recipes too.

Whatever way you choose to do it, make sure you can easily find your gluten free recipes..it helps make life simpler and easier when it comes to cooking gluten free.

If there’s any way I can help your gluten free journey easier, please reach out I’m here to help!

2 Books On My Amazon Wish List..

I love getting excited about books I would like to read.

Interestingly enough, both these books were brought to my attention through social media, either through a podcast or instagram.

I am excited about both of these books and hope you are too!

  1. The first book I hope to order soon is written by Jody Moore entitled “Better Than Happy: Connecting With Divinity Through Conscious Thinking.”

Jody Moore is a life coach and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I personally love her podcast entitled “Better than happy.”

I have learned so many insightful things from Jody Moore. She teaches many different things, but can help anyone navigate through stress, frustration, and hardship. She is encouraging and a delight to listen to. I know her book will be incredible.

At the price of only $14.95, you can’t wait to snag this impactful book.

2. “I Like Me Anyway: Embracing Imperfection, Connection and Christ By Brooke Romney is another book I am excited to read soon!

Brooke Romney has a huge following on social media, she has great tips for parenting, raising teens, self help, and more.

Romney talks about ways to increase your personal peace, something we could all learn more about.

Even Better? You can order this book for only $12.59!

I hope you enjoy reading these books too. Once I am finished reading them I will give you my full review, but I am sure these books won’t disappoint.

Enjoy!

Our Little Love Story…Part 1

My husband and me probably do not have the typical love story in any way. So, with Valentines Day around the corner I thought I would share our love story in pieces.

First, some background you must know.

My husband Brad and I were single in Utah for much longer than most people tend to stay single.

We both VERY much wanted to be married and to have a family…but we both had experienced some challenges in the dating world. Things just hadn’t worked out.

Dating brought us both through many ups and downs, which in a way, made both of us a bit weary of blind dates or set ups at all.

Keep that in mind as I continue on…..

I was invited to my friend Marianne’s birthday party.

It was a fun “Mustache” birthday party.

And in the picture we took…we all had mustaches on…all but One.

There was one in the picture who put his finger above his mouth to create a mustache…and well, I thought this guy was quite cute.

I saw that my friend had been talking to this “cute guy,” so I asked her if she would introduce us.

She brushed it off and said “He’s like 31 and not married, he’s not the type that wants to settle down.” And she left it at that.

Who was that guy? Well, I found out his name…his name was Brad…….

So I may have Facebook stocked him…through looking at mutual friends.

I found this picture and was quite smitten;)

Facebook did have it’s benefits for single people back in 2013!

More to come…
