If you are gluten-free, or on any other diet restrictions…you know that finding items you like and enjoy to eat can be a challenge.
Because I HATE to see anyone struggle to find good-tasting gluten-free food, I created “Gluten-free Friday Flavors.”
Each week I provide recipes, suggestions, tips and tricks..all things gluten-free to help make eating gluten-free simple and fun!
This week I chose to make a new cupcake mix from the brand Gluten-free Heaven.
I have tried this brand for cinnamon rolls and liked it…so I got their chocolate cake mix to see how if I also like this mix….
Overall……(drumbrolll)
I gave this cake mix a score of 7 out of 10.
Why?
Well, partly my fault I believe, I didn’t put the water in the mix correctly and the cupcakes did not rise…they were very FLAT.
However, this is not uncommon for gluten-free baking.
I even tried a supposed “trick” by adding 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice to help the cupcakes rise…..it didn’t help.
BUT–when it came to texture and flavor, these chocolate cupcakes were overall quite tasty.
Would I get the mix again?
Yes?
Is it the BEST chocolate cupcake mix I have tried?
Nope–I still like Betty Crocker’s better.
And yet…because they scored a 7 in my book I wanted to share.
Gluten-free Heaven has many different products and I am excited to try more.
I bought this mix from Macey’s grocery store, but I know you can also find it online as well.
So here’s the question I have for you…what is YOUR favorite chocolate cupcake mix??
