Creative Gift-Wrapping Ideas that You will Love for this Holiday Season.

One of my favorite things about Christmas is creating a “homey”, and special feeling in the home. I love to decorate for Christmas, and I am always looking for new ideas that can help our home feel extra special for Christmas.

I have had my eye on the many different ways that people wrap their Christmas presents.

Below I have a variety of different images spotlighting different gift-wrapping ideas. I found all of these ideas on Pinterest. How did we get creative before pinterest?

Some of the gift wrapping examples are simple, and some are a bit more complicated.

I have put together a list of what is trending right now in gift-wrapping:

1-A theme, whether it be colors, or tags, or ribbons, or words. Each present seems to have some sort of theme.

2-It is quite popular right now to add actual greenery to the presents, whether it be real or faux.

3. Many people are going for a more basic gift wrapping paper whether it be brown, white etc.

4. Ribbon and tags or ornaments are the main focal point, keeping the rest of the gift simple.

*Some of my personal favorites:

-The M&M’s bow

-The bright colored lights

-The hand written lettering

-Candy canes mixed with greenery

-The simple colored gift wraps with bells.

(*Hint if you are looking for some cute and unique gift tags, I have enjoyed everything I have seen at pebblesinc.blog)

What are YOUR favorite gift wrapping ideas?

A Fun Reading Challenge That You and Your Family Will Love and Enjoy…

I have mentioned before in the past that I taught school for seven years before I had my children.

I taught middle school history and I loved my experience teaching.

Something that surprised me when I started teaching school was how many children struggled with reading. Even by seventh grade, there were still many students that did not enjoy reading, because it was hard for them.

My heart when out to these students that struggled with reading. Of course there were many factors involved with why many students struggled. Some kids dealt with learning disabilities which affected their ability to be a success in reading.

However, I did observe that there were many students that just never “practiced” their reading skills.

Everyday at our school we had something called “DEAR” time which meant

Drop

Everything

And

Read

DEAR time was a great way for students to get some reading time in.

Sooo–I have decided to adopt DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time into my families everyday life.

The plan:

-Choose a time everyday, set a timer and drop what everyone in the family is doing and READ for 15-20 minutes.

-Parents will read, children will read…the entire household will be reading!

-My goal is to get the entire family excited about reading more in their life.

Reading is the key to success not only in school, but life in general.

I will try DEAR time for a week and let you know how my family does.

I am excited to have an excuse to curl up with a book everyday for at least 15 minutes.

Hopefully I can get some more books read!

I hope you join me in this challenge.

Let me know your tips and tricks for getting your family to read more….

Until next time,

xoxo,

Christy Lee

A Favorite Baby App

My friend introduced me to the baby app called “Baby Story” and I have loved it.

This app came with a free trial, and then it becomes $4.99 a month.

I have felt that the price is totally worth it for all that you get! All through pregnancy it has filters and cute lettering of how far along you are. As the baby comes, this app has adorable lettering and milestone stickers to use as the baby grows.

This app has been so fun to use and I feel like it helped me document my pregnancy and baby milestones better than with my other kids because it is so fun to use!

Here are some pictures of me using the app to give you an idea what it features:

What can I say I have “baby” on my mind lately. Share away with all your baby mom friends:)

Until next time,
